CODE RED ANIMAL PROJECT
Promoting animal welfare in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, and beyond
WHO WE ARE
Code Red Animal Project, Inc., based out of Athens, TX, focuses on "last call" lives and deaf pups. Our origins began in the summer of 2022, when founder, Jyl, noticed the steep increase in shelter intakes at Fort Worth area shelters and became a local foster. She made strong ties with shelters, local fosters, animal transporters, and rescues, both in Texas and across the US. Through the foster experience, it became apparent that there can never be enough hands on the deck of animal welfare, and Code Red Animal Project was born. CRAP seeks to rescue domestic animals from urgent situations: code red and last call shelter lists, deaf dogs facing hardship, and lending a hand in community rescues. We give these "urgent" animals the time, space and resources to decompress, heal, socialize, and develop the skills to be successful in their forever homes. CRAP matches our adoptable animals to loving families, and facilitates their transport to their homes. Our team has grown to include like-minded individuals with experience in canine behavior, animal welfare, and veterinary care. We strive to make a positive change in all of our pursuits and inspire others along the way.
